Merry Christmas! These aren't Christmas pictures, although they do have beautiful colors and a loving family so that is kind of "Christmasy," right?! On a baby's first birthday, Koreans wear traditional clothing and take pictures as well as celebrate. I love that these children will grow up knowing their wonderful Korean culture even though they live in the United States.

I love taking pictures of babies. This photo session was a treat with two baby sisters. They are thirteen months apart and are going to be the best of friends, but right now I hope Mom and Dad can get some sleep!

Missionary Families

I often take pictures for families before they send a son or daughter off on an LDS mission. Since it will be two years before the families are all together again, these are must have pictures. The soon-to-be missionaries are always impressive and these two young men were no exception!

"School" Picture Special

It is school picture time! Would you like a school picture of your child that doesn’t look like a “school" picture? Well then, don’t go to the school for your child’s pictures! For a limited time only, Beth Graham Photography will be offering school-type picture packages except with better backdrops, better lighting, better cropping and most importantly better smiles! You can be with your child to make sure their hair is still combed, their shirt is still clean and their smile is truly genuine.

All packages will be a traditional head and shoulder pose with siblings’ pictures cropped to match. Young children, not yet in school, are also welcome. Background choices are blue or tan.

Feel free to pass the word on to your family and friends. Call now to schedule your appointment as the limited spaces fill quickly! The special will run from August 30th - September 10th.

Newborn Portraits

Newborn pictures are best taken within the first 10 days. This isn't usually when moms feel up to being photographed. One trick that helps is to have moms wear black. We chose black for this new family, although the mom really is as amazing as she looks and could have worn anything!

The black clothing also helps draw the eye to all that soft baby skin. Can you believe this little guy was only seven days old? He is quite the filled-out newborn and I just love that chubbiness!

I love how this storyboard turned out and I thought it a fitting tribute to all the New Year's Resolutions to lose weight in 2011. Wouldn't it be nice if all our "chubbies" looked as cute as this?! School Picture Special - Background Choices

The two backgrounds I'm offering for the School Picture Special are tan and blue. I love both of these backgrounds as they are very universal. The tan background has been the more popular choice. Tan looks good with pretty much any shirt color and it looks nice when displayed in most homes. However the blue helps your child stand out more, especially if your child has light colored hair. Also, the blue is extra fun with bright colored clothing or to showcase beautiful blue eyes. Some of you aren't sure which background choice you'd like best, so I thought I'd share a few examples from last year's School Picture Special. (If seeing these samples changes your mind from what you've already told me, just let me know and I'll update your appointment information.)

School Picture Special!

It's that time of year and I'm doing them again--School Pictures! I know many of you are anxious to bring your children back for a much better alternative to pictures taken at the schools. I know because I've already gotten quite a few calls from moms to schedule their children with me. Thanks for the loyalty and for telling your family and friends! Really it is a great deal (if I do say so myself!) since you'll get better quality pictures with real smiles. Did you hear that? Real smiles! And you can be there to make sure your child's hair is actually combed. Wouldn't it be nice for your children to not have embarrassing school portraits to look back on?!

Double the Sweetness

As a mother of twins, these one-month-old newborns were extra fun for me to photograph. It was fun to reminisce of the magical time when my twin girls were newborns. This lucky family has two sets of twins! Aren't they just so sweet?!

Beautiful Bride

Handsome Little Guy

Meet one handsome little guy. He was already 3 weeks old, so we had a harder time keeping him asleep and/or happy during his session. He didn't appreciate being scrunched up very much and he definitely didn't want to sleep on his tummy! That's ok, because we got plenty of cute images of this sweetie anyway!

It is awesome to be able to help people capture that moment when all the family can be together. (And when I say moment, I really do mean just a moment for this particular family!) What a treasure to have the entire family in one portrait.

Grandma's Pride & Joys

Grandma coordinated this photo session of her little pride and joys and I'm so glad she did. These cute little cousins are five months apart. Since the little boy just turned one, he received traditional Korean clothing. Fun for me to photograph! It was especially fun to see this family again, since I took the wedding pictures for the little boy's parents.

Here is a sneak peak for Heather and Reid! Such a nice couple and they were definitely troopers. Although they were beautiful on their wedding day, the weather unfortunately wasn't. It was rainy and/or windy pretty much the entire time we took pictures. Somehow they were able to keep smiling and not look cold. I'm sure it was much easier to look happy (since they truly were!) than to look warm (which they most definitely were not!).

Every once in awhile I get asked to do commercial photography. Blom International will use this picture as they advertise their wholesale diamonds. For the advertisement, the picture needed to convey "happy in love." The models did great, don't you think? Of course, it didn't hurt that they actually got engaged just the night before!

Patient Parents

What a fun family this was. The kids were well-behaved and more importantly so were the parents! Mom and Dad were very patient throughout--even when the little guy decided he'd rather be sleeping than take more pictures! Patient parents definitely make for the best pictures. It is important to work with kids instead of getting upset and then expecting the kids to smile. We had to work with this little guy since he was tired and grumpy. He got a sucker for his individual pictures which turned out really cute. (Mom chose a series of three candid sucker pictures for her bedroom. Super cute!) Notice the pose for the kid picture since the little guy was not about to be content without his mom or dad. I love it!

New Blog and Family Pictures

I'm very excited about the new photography blog! YEA!!! I've wanted to start one for quite awhile now. I hope you enjoy following along with my picture fun!

September kicks off the family picture season. One of the reasons so many families take family pictures during this time is that they want family pictures for Christmas gifts and for Christmas cards. (I'll do a separate post on Christmas cards later.) Don't wait until December! September and October are the best. I am already scheduling family pictures during this busy time. With limited photo sessions available, please contact me if you are interested and we can talk about what would work best for your family and/or schedule your family photo session.
